周浙昆

周浙昆,男,博士,研究员,博士研究生导师。1982年7月毕业于云南大学生物系,1985年在中国科学院南京地质古生物研究所获古植物学专业的理学硕士学位。1985年到中国科学院昆明植物研究所工作。1987年3月开始攻读博士学位,师从吴征镒院士,1990年获科学院与英国皇家植物园联合培养博士学位。曾在国外知名高校和科研单位学习或从事研究工作4年,包括英国皇家植物园、美国康乃尔大学、荷兰莱登大学和日本千叶大学。现代古生物和地层学国家重点实验室和东北亚生物演化与环境教育部重点实验室学术委员会委员,《植物分类学报》和《云南植物研究》编委,中国古植物学会理事。

       主要从事古植物学,生物地理,气候变化和壳斗科系统演化的研究。参与国家自然科学基金重大项目《中国种子植物区系的研究》,参加了该项目最艰苦的西藏墨脱地区的越冬考察,主持了国家自然科学基金重点项目《东亚植物区系中主要特征成分和重要类群的形成和发展》的研究。作为主要研究人员参加了国家自然科学基金委重点项目《青藏高原特殊生境中植物多样性的起源进化机制的研究》。主持并完成4项国家自然科学基金面上项目的研究。

       对被子植物起源、重要类群的化石历史方面做过深入研究。参与了孙革教授探寻最早被子植物化石的研究,其成果发表于《Science》;发现报道了最早的金缕梅科花化石,论文发表于《American Journal of Botany》,最早壳斗科植物的叶化石,全面总结了壳斗科的化石历史,并在第十六届国际植物大会口头发表。总结了中国豆科植物的化石历史。这些研究为被子植物起源,上述类群的起源演化的研究做出了贡献。

       从化石历史、现代分布、分类和系统演化等方面对壳斗科,特别是栎属植物进行了深入的研究,提出了壳斗科植物起源于白垩纪中晚期,而主要的分化以及现代属形成的时间是始新世的学术观点。研究了栎属、青冈属的叶表皮特征以及毛被的演化规律,提出了高山栎分布区形成演变和青藏高原抬升隆起关系的假说,即高山栎之所以成为横断山地区生态系统中的重要组成是因为它们自身的形态、生理及遗传特征适应抬升以后的生态环境,并从化石历史、现代地理分布,形态解剖,遗传多样性及生理生态等几个方面证实了这一假说,为研究青藏高原抬升对生物多样性的影响以及高山地区植物的生态适应提供了线索。重新研究了西藏聂拉木和南木林的古气候和古海拔,提出了和前人不同的关于青藏高原隆升的观点。
在国内外发表研究论文100余篇,其中包括《Science》(合著)、《American Journal of Botany》,《Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology》,《International Journal of Plant Sciences》,《Taxon》,《Annals of Botany》及《Palaios》等有影响的国际学术期刊。参加了中国植物志中英版编撰工作(中文版第一卷,英文版第五卷,桑科),合编,参编专著10部。撰写过多篇科普文章。

       1998年获中国科学院野外工作先进个人,1999年获中国科学院自然科学二等奖, 2002年获国务院政府特殊津贴,2003、2005、2009年三次获云南省自然科学一等奖,2004年获教育部自然科学与技术奖提名奖一等奖。
